When Marlaina and Jon called me and told me they decided to elope instead of have a big ceremony and reception in Michigan, my immediate response was, “where are we going?” I was ecstatic when they told me they’d be having an intimate city elopement in downtown Seattle, Washington. Since we all knew we wanted to do some extra ‘sploring, Lainie and Jon booked an engagement shoot for the day before their ceremony! Washington state is hands down one of the most beautiful places to visit and this Rattlesnake Ledge adventure session did not disappoint one bit!! It was a photographer’s dream exploring North Bend, Washington. Bring on all the fog and moody vibes, baby!!
This engagement session quickly became one of my favorite locations I’ve photographed so far. And to think, this location was our back up plan! Mind. Blown. We hiked 4 miles in the freezing cold and rain to reach the top lookout over Rattlesnake Lake. Saying Lainie and Jon were troopers would be a huge understatement. We only managed to stay at the top for a solid 5 minutes before the winds became almost unbearable. Once we could start to feel our fingers again, we stopped at the lake for champagne to finish our session off with a POP! 😉
But what’s a hike and adventure session without a big juicy and beer at 8 oz Burger & Co afterwards?! Hell, we deserved it!! And if you know me at all, you know I’ll never pass up a good meal.
