While everyone envisions that dreamy golden hour lighting for their photoshoot, let’s face it – expecting consistent sunny weather here in the Mitten State might be a tad too optimistic. I’m here to remind you that engagement photos in the midst of Michigan’s mood swings can be an absolute blast! So here is some encouragement to help you make the most of your engagement photos in the rain!
Rain on your engagement photo day might not have been part of the original plan, but trust me when I say that the unexpected sprinkle can truly add a touch of magic! Embracing the rain for your engagement photos can result in stunning and unique shots that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
A little drizzle is no reason to cancel your photo session ☔️ Don’t worry, I promise that I won’t ask you to stand in the rain and get totally soaked! (Neither me or my camera want that life either.) Not only am I going to look for some safe dry places we can take cover under but I will also offer my courtesy clear umbrellas. Not only do they keep you covered, but they’re also super adorable in rainy engagement photos! Side note: there’s something about cuddling up really close to avoid getting rained on that makes for such romantic photos!
Overcast and rain brings a natural romantic ambiance that all photographers love. I promise that your genuine smiles and laughter will shine through despite the drizzle. So let’s grab that cute umbrella and let the weather become your best prop!
Don’t get discouraged when you hear rain is in the forecast. I promise we’re gonna make the most of it! Plus, soft, diffused lighting, misty backgrounds, and the sound of raindrops can really elevate the romance in your photos.
Now, when it comes to dressing for the occasion, consider embracing the unpredictable. Don’t forget to throw on some layers, a cozy scarf, and perhaps a cute pair of rain boots. Because in Michigan, you never know if you’ll be catching rays or dancing in a spontaneous drizzle. ☔📸
