Mady and Zach’s day was the definition of a perfect September Planterra Conservatory wedding—but what made it extra special was how the day started long before guests arrived at the venue.
Instead of getting ready at a hotel, Mady spent the morning at her parents’ gorgeous home in West Bloomfield, and it honestly felt like the dreamiest place to begin a wedding day. The house was full of natural light, beautiful spaces, and that calm, excited energy that builds when everyone knows something big is about to happen.
One of my favorite parts of the entire day happened right there at the house. Mady and Zach chose to do their first look and private vows at her parents’ home before heading to the ceremony. It gave them this quiet, emotional moment together before the rest of the day unfolded. It was intimate, meaningful, and such a beautiful way to start their wedding day.
Afterward, everyone made their way to Planterra Conservatory, which is always stunning but somehow felt even more magical in September. Early fall in Michigan is one of the best times for a greenhouse wedding. The natural light pours through the glass ceilings, the greenery is still lush from summer, and the entire space glows once the candles are lit for the reception.
Planterra weddings have this perfect balance of elegance and warmth. Between the towering palms and a candlelit reception space, it feels like stepping into another world.
Mady and Zach’s day blended the best of both settings—the personal moments at home and the incredible celebration at their venue. Every part of the day felt thoughtful and intentional.
September showed off, Planterra was glowing, and Mady and Zach’s wedding day truly couldn’t have been more beautiful. 🤍
Shoutout to all the vendors that made their day possible:
