Riley and Eric’s engagement session was proof that engagement photos don’t have to be serious or traditional to be amazing. Instead of a park or downtown streets, they decided to do vintage bowling alley engagement photos at Bowlero in Royal Oak, and it was such a fun vibe.
Bowlero has this perfect retro energy—colorful lanes and that nostalgic bowling alley feel that instantly makes photos playful and a little different. It’s one of those locations where you can lean into the theme and just have fun with it.
Riley and Eric started the session with a more casual outfit, which matched the laid-back bowling alley atmosphere perfectly. Lots of laughing, bowling, and just genuinely enjoying the moment together. They even brought their pup along for a few moments, which obviously made everything even cuter. Any engagement session that includes a dog instantly becomes better.
Then came the outfit change—and honestly, it was such a moment.
Riley changed into a twirly dress with turquoise heels that gave the whole session this vintage, slightly editorial feel while still keeping the retro bowling alley vibe. We even made sure to get some “getting ready” shots in the bathroom with Eric zipping her up.
The whole shoot felt playful, relaxed, and very them—which is exactly how engagement photos should feel. Instead of trying to create something overly posed, Riley and Eric leaned into the experience and just had fun together.
And honestly? Bowling alley engagement photos at Bowlero Royal Oak might need to happen more often because this session was such a good time. 🎳
