December 10, 2024
Bruce and I hit the one-year mark as husband and wife, and naturally, we decided to do it our way: a little fancy, a little fun, and 100% “us.” What better way to celebrate than slipping back into our wedding outfits, heading back to Cat Lake where it all began, and reliving the magic?
Because why not? It was the perfect excuse to wear both my ceremony and reception dresses again, and honestly, I’d do it every day if I could. There’s something about slipping into those outfits that instantly takes you back to all the feels from your wedding day. Bruce looked dapper as ever in his bespoke orange suit, and together, we felt like we’d stepped out of a time machine—except this time, it was all about celebrating the journey we’ve been on since saying “I do.”
First, we rode scooters (because we’re not that serious), grabbed some pizza, and popped a bottle of Dom Perignon. It was the perfect mix of low-key fun and just a little bit of indulgence.
Standing at the same spot where we exchanged vows in 2022 was everything. We both teared up as we reflected on what this year has brought us. It felt so special to take that time to reconnect and remind each other why we started this adventure together in the first place.
I’ve decided this is going to be our tradition every year—revisiting our vows and celebrating how far we’ve come. I mean, who doesn’t need more moments like that?
The Smiths came along to film it all, and Jo from MG & Co took the most beautiful photos. Having them there felt so natural—they’re part of the family at this point—and now we have the sweetest memories captured forever.
Here’s to many more anniversaries filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of fancy. Cheers to year one, Bruce—you’re stuck with me! 💕
