Belle Isle Engagement | Ashley + Dean

Belle Isle engagement session in Detroit? Count me in! One of my favorite spots in the city to capture a couple, no matter the time of the year -or- the weather. We did Ashley + Dean’s engagement session late-September, embracing the last few moments of summertime.

We kicked off their engagement session at the fountain. Even though it wasn’t towering over with water, it still made for an incredible backdrop. Paired with outfits of all black — these two popped against the stunning white fountain.

On our way to the beach, we pulled over on the side of the road to a set of weeping willow trees. Belle Isle is covered with these trees and they always make for the most romantic shots.

The real magic started to happen as the sun started its descent, casting a golden glow over the island. With a picnic blanket and a spread of charcuterie from Cheese to Please, Ashley and Dean watched the sun set on the beach. They clinked glasses of 1942 Tequila, toasting to forever with each sip and stealing kisses in between. They even danced on the sands, and ran through the water to end the evening.
