Michigan Greenhouse Wedding: Sullivan + Matt

As a Michigan wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful moments for couples across the state. However, Sullivan and Matt’s wedding at Planterra Conservatory was truly something special. From the stunning greenhouse venue to the untraditional touches, this wedding was a joy to be a part of.

Located in West Bloomfield, Planterra Conservatory is a magical venue for any wedding, but especially for couples who love nature and plants. The venue boasts a stunning botanical garden, a glass-enclosed conservatory, and a breathtaking outdoor courtyard.

Sullivan and Matt’s wedding took place in the conservatory, with the ceremony taking place in front of a custom floral arbor. The couple opted for a classic and timeless color scheme of white and black, which perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the venue. However, they also incorporated unique touches, such as having their bridesmaids wear white instead of traditional colored dresses. This added a modern and fresh twist to the classic wedding style.

Another standout detail of the wedding was the presence of “beer boys” instead of a traditional flower girl. The brothers of the bride walked down the aisle pulling a wagon full of beer cans, which they passed out to guests before the ceremony began. This was a fun and unexpected touch that perfectly reflected Sullivan and Matt’s laid-back personalities and love of a good party.

But beyond the beautiful venue and fun details, what made this wedding truly special was the couple themselves. Sullivan and Matt are not only madly in love, but truly just wonderful humans. This was especially evident during their engagement photo session at Arches National Park, where we bonded over our mutual love of nature, adventure, and of course champagne.
