If you know me at all, you know I am allllll about embracing the authentic self and being unapologetically yourself at all times! ESPECIALLY when it comes to your business! So let’s talk branding tips on how to embrace the real you!
Instagram stories are the bomb diggity for this!! If you aren’t utilizing your IG stories yet, START! Stories are seriously impactful. It’s the best way to give your clients a sneak peek into your actual life. Stop hiding behind your pretty photos and show them you’re a real human! Show them your workspace! People love being able to see what it’s like behind the scenes. Share what you ordered at Starbucks this morning, or your dog that you have an unhealthy obsession with. These things you might not post on your actual feed make you, you guessed it, relatable.
Engage with your people. Whether they’re your current clients, potential clients, friends, or other even photographers! Comment back to people. Replay to stories and DMs. Take like 15-20 minutes a day to do this. People will love it when they hear from you! Plus, I guarantee it’ll boost your engagement back.
Type the way you talk, babe. If you’re a “yo girl wat up” type of talker, talk that way in your emails, dm’s, and posts. Super professional? BE super professional. If you prefer to only speak in gifs, hands down only speak in gifs.
How awkward would it be if we met up for tacos & margs and I was super professional and quiet? You’d be all “naww girl that’s not the Molly I know online!!”
It’s so important to just be genuine.
My clients and future clients know me before they even book me. For instance, my personality online is the same as it is online. My clients don’t just know I’ll be on the dance floor at their wedding but they EXPECT it. You do you, boo! If they don’t like it, they won’t book you. And that is OKAY!! Other people will.
I promise you, they want to see you. It might feel weird at first but just get out of your comfort zone & embrace it!! (Psssttt…I’ll let you in on a little secret. Majority of my most engaged posts are of ME.)
In order to get people to truly connect to your work, you have to allow them to get to know you! So why not embrace the real you?! We want our clients to feel like they’ve known us for years. Step out of your comfort zone and let your clients feel like your friends; not just the target for your marketing!
Thanks for hanging out with me!
Xo, Molls
