A year ago, I met up with Autumn and Lauren in the Arizona desert, just outside of Phoenix, for their engagement session in the Superstition Mountains—just days before their intimate wedding weekend began.
It’s hard to put into words what makes these two so special, but from the second you’re around them, you feel it. The way they make space for each other. The depth of their connection that doesn’t need to be performed—it just exists.
The desert was quiet that evening, the kind of stillness that makes you pause and pay attention. We wandered, letting the light do its thing, watching the sun dip behind the red rocks. These weren’t just pretty Superstition Mountains engagement photos—they were a reflection of who Autumn and Lauren are. Grounded. Present. Steady in their love.
Their wedding that weekend was intimate and full of meaning, but there was something so special about this evening. Just the two of them, in a place that felt wide open and peaceful. No distractions, no noise. Just a deep breath before a big moment.
A year later, this session still sticks with me—not because of the epic views (though, wow!) but because of who Autumn and Lauren are. Honest, kind, wildly thoughtful humans. I feel lucky to have captured this chapter of their story.
If you’re dreaming up your own engagement session, the Superstition Mountains at Lost Dutchman State Park offer more than just a beautiful backdrop. There’s room out here for real connection, and space to just be yourselves—something Autumn and Lauren reminded me is the whole point.
