If you’ve ever wanted your engagement photos to feel like a day in the life — a mix of cocktails, laughter, city lights, and golden-hour magic — Annie + Mike’s Detroit engagement session is everything.
We started downtown, doing what any great Detroit date should include — a stop at Checker’s Bar, some wandering through the city streets, and an impromptu photo op in front of Gucci (because why not?). The whole afternoon felt effortless — a little classy, a little playful, and totally them.
Detroit has this way of giving you both grit and romance in the same frame. The textures, the colors, the skyline — it all tells a story. And Annie + Mike? They fit right into it. They laughed, danced across crosswalks, and didn’t care who was watching. Every moment felt natural, unposed, and full of energy.
As the sun started to dip, we made our way over to Belle Isle to wander into the open fields just as everything turned gold. The whole sky lit up, wrapping them in that kind of glow you can feel. The grass shimmered in the light, the air was still, and it felt like time just slowed down for a minute. It was the kind of sunset that doesn’t need direction — just two people, laughing, holding hands, completely in it. The perfect ending to a day that felt more like an adventure than a photoshoot.
This Detroit engagement session had it all — cocktails, designer strolls, downtown energy, and sunset calm. Just two people in love, doing Detroit their way.
