Why is wedding photography so expensive?

I could talk about what goes on behind the scenes of a wedding photography business, but I don’t want to bore you. Your wedding photos are the only thing you invest in that you can physically hold on to post-wedding. I’m not here to tell you what percentage to spend on what, but ask yourself what really is most important to you and let that determine your budget. If having your big day captured perfectly is important to you, I truly believe you should invest in that. Trust me when I say I’m worth every penny—I’ll even prove it to you ;)

Where are you based out of? And do you travel?

I currently reside in Michigan, but LOVE traveling. Take me anywhere! (please.) I might even give you a discount rate if it’s somewhere on my bucket list!

Do you deliver every image you shoot? How many images do we receive?

The only photos that aren’t delivered are the blurry, duplicates, unflattering, mid-sneeze photos I know you don’t want. I don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the best focus, so I spend the time on our end doing so. But don’t worry—I provide you the best of the best! The delivery range of photos is from 700-1000 per wedding.

Do we really need a second photographer?

Unless you have a very small, intimate wedding, I highly recommend it. Having two photographers adds a second eye to your day. It also helps me to be in two places at once which helps in timeline planning.

What about engagement photos? Do we need engagement photos?

No, of course not. Unless you’re specifically wanting them for a Save the Date. But I will tell you—engagement photos are an awesome way to get comfortable in front of the camera! Not only for the two of you, but also to get to know me! It’s the perfect way to see what it’s gonna be like on your wedding day! Then on your big day, you can just ignore the awkward & silliness being in front of the camera may make you feel, and remember “oh it’s just Molly following us around again!”

And I do also have a wedding package that INCLUDES a mini engagement session! So it’s a win win!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN I BOOK YOUR TEAM, NOT YOU?

My brand and my craft is my baby. Which means, I am not willing to sacrifice quality in any aspect of my brand; especially with my team. I handpicked photographers myself based on their shooting style, charisma, professionalism, and ability to be creative and relaxed all while getting sh*t done. 

My team has been trained by me, to be available to lead shoot weddings when Molly is already booked or slightly out of your budget. Most importantly, Molly will still be your point of contact throughout the entire process, from booking to gallery delivery, and Molly will also be the one who edits the images from your special day!

Can we have the RAW files?

RAW (aka unedited photos) will not be delivered to you under any circumstances. You are hiring me for my editing style and trusting in my creative eye and expertise to send you the best images!

Should we do a “first look”?

The answer is always “yes!” I am totally not opposed to the traditional first look down the aisle but trust me when I say first looks are all the rage right now. First looks not only help ease your nerves throughout the day, but they completely take away any stress in regards to timeline planning! This day is about YOU, not your photos. Having a first look with you and your boo is the best way to let that happen.

How long is your wedding coverage for?

This is totally up to you on the time we start & finish. Based on your budget and needs, this is how a package is chosen. I can also customize a package for you that will cater your needs if there is not one that makes sense for you!

Do you photoshop or body modify?

I absolutely do not do any body modifications in photoshop. I will touch up/soften things such as acne, bruising, shadows, etc. But under no circumstances will I trim the size of someone’s body or erase completely someone’s said “flaws”. I pride myself in rawness & honesty, in my life and my photography.

HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP OUR IMAGES FOR? WHAT IF I LOSE MY IMAGES?

Images delivered to you are on a temporary online gallery site. This site will be accessible for up to 6 months. It is your responsibility to download your images and save them somewhere safe! However, I will keep your images backed up on external hard drives for one year after your event. There is a $100 replacement charge for additional downloads after the event has been archived. I strongly suggest you make at least one copy of the downloads when you receive them from me.
