I’m going to say something that might ruffle a few feathers…if you’re not offering albums to your boudoir clients, you’re doing them a disservice.
Yes, you’re also leaving thousands of dollars on the table—but honestly, that’s the second biggest issue.
The bigger problem? You’re giving your clients a gallery of images that will likely sit on their phone, computer, or in the cloud…instead of becoming something they can hold, flip through, and treasure for decades.
Think about it. How often do you go back and scroll through old folders on your laptop? Probably not often.
But a beautifully crafted album? That gets pulled off the shelf or out of a nightstand drawer. It’s shared with a spouse on anniversaries. It’s looked through years later as a reminder of a season in life when someone chose themselves, stepped outside their comfort zone, and saw themselves in a completely different light.
That’s what we’re really selling as boudoir photographers. Not just naked photos but an experience. A transformation. A tangible reminder of how they felt.
And if you’re ending that experience with nothing more than a download link, you’re stopping the story before it’s finished.
Boudoir isn’t just another photoshoot.
Women come to us because they’re celebrating a milestone, reclaiming their confidence, surprising their partner, or simply proving to themselves that they are worthy of taking up space.
They invest emotionally long before they ever invest financially. So why would the final product be something that lives in an app they’ll probably forget about?
A luxury album turns those images into something intentional. It gives the experience a proper ending and honestly? That’s what your clients deserve.
One of the biggest objections I hear from photographers is:
“My clients only want digitals.”
I’d challenge that. Do they actually only want digitals? Or have they never been shown how incredible an album can be?
Clients can’t buy something they don’t know exists. It’s your job to educate them.
When you confidently present albums as the natural final step of the experience—not as an optional upsell—you’ll be amazed how many clients choose them. People value what you value.
Let’s talk business for a second. Albums increase your average sale without adding more sessions to your calendar. Instead of booking more clients to make more money, you can increase the value of every single client you already have. That’s a win for your business.
But here’s the thing…I don’t believe boudoir photographers should offer albums just because they’re profitable. I believe they should offer them because they’re better. The increased revenue is simply a byproduct of giving your clients the experience they actually deserve.
Most photographers think album design is complicated.
So they either:
The truth? Album design shouldn’t take hours and you don’t need to be a graphic designer or pro in Photoshop…you just need SmartAlbums. (Code MOLLY15 gets your 15% off)
Also, want to hear something straight from the Boudoir Album Blueprint course? The secret is learning to shoot with the album in mind from the very beginning. When you understand storytelling, variety, pacing, and flow, the album practically designs itself.
This was one of the biggest mindset shifts in my business. I stopped photographing for the gallery and I started photographing for the album. Every pose. Every crop. Every detail shot. Every wide image. Every close-up.
They all have a purpose. When you approach a session this way, album design becomes faster, easier, and so much more intentional.
After years of designing albums and refining my workflow, I realized boudoir photographers weren’t struggling because they weren’t creative.
They were struggling because no one had taught them the system.
Inside the Boudoir Album Blueprint, I walk you through my exact process—from how I shoot specifically for albums to how I design them quickly and confidently.
You’ll learn:
Because albums shouldn’t feel like an afterthought.
They should feel like the reason your client booked you in the first place.
If you take one thing away from this post, let it be this:
Your clients deserve more than a download link. They deserve something they can hold. Something they’ll come back to years from now. Something that reminds them how powerful, beautiful, and confident they felt the day they stepped in front of your camera.
So yes—selling albums is good for your business.
But more importantly…it’s one of the best ways to serve your clients well and that’s exactly why I believe every boudoir photographer should be offering them.
