I don’t always do family sessions but when I do I have the best time! I don’t have kids myself so hanging out with little ones is a nice change of pace. This Stoney Creek family session was the perfect way to end summer with a SPLASH!

My favorite part about photographing families is letting kids be kids. It’s so important to not force kids to look at your camera and smile for an hour. Plus, that just never works ha! Without allowing kids to just be kids, they can get super agitated and family photoshoots are not so fun anymore. My lifestyle family sessions are all about having fun, laughing and playing with your kids. These are hands down my favorite memories to capture too! I guarantee these boys will never forget the time they ran into the lake as a family fully clothed!

Another thing I always make a priority for during family sessions, is to snag a few of the parents! It’s likely rare that they ever get photos together anymore so when the kids are off gallivanting, I make sure to pull the couple aside for some romantics!
